ABOUT THE WORK

Kate’s works for VERSION have developed through a complex series of digital and analogue processes. Stained, cut and sewn paintings are made on canvas, which are then photographed and recombined in Photoshop, before being printed, collaged, painted on and finally printed on Platine Fibre Rag, a 100% cotton rag archival paper with a satin finish.

Kate described her process for creating Hard Mix and Divide as "cutting and composing through a process where digital and analogue are compressed into a kind of loop. And shifting things across media so they still show characteristics of all the processes but don’t belong to any of them."

Hard Mix is printed without borders, and hand-signed and editioned by the artist.
