The Sex Tree is a limited edition print and performance work that maps the developing sex lives of artists from the Eastern seaboard of Australia. Based on spoken word historical narratives, this much-anticipated work is as spurious as a gossip magazine, as empirical as a complex family tree and (let’s just say), some artists have more branches than others…
Everybody’s talking about who’s done who, off the record already. This work defies the industry standard of waiting till everyone’s dead, or most people are dead, to talk about who has sexed who On the Record and maps it all out.
Giving people what they want within art is almost as good as giving people what they don’t want.
